This comic makes no sense whatsoever. They would never assign warp coil repair to an ensign. In fact, it is usually a procedure that is carried out in space dock.
Also, did you notice Chewbacca is in it? :)
Mike: The task would only be assigned to an ensign if they intended to kill him off. Your second point further illustrates Chewbacca’s incompetence. Poor Chewy. ;)
